“So what is it exactly?” you might be asking yourself. Well, as the title suggests, it’s an aftermarket stereo installation kit designed to fit the current generation Ford F-150, which went into production starting 2015. A new one is coming out later this year, so this dash kit is intended for the 2015-2017 year models of the F-150, and we’ll have a variation designed for the newest 2018 F-150 when it comes out.

The dash kit basically allows you to replace the factory F-150 stereo with our aftermarket one, improving the overall quality of the sound coming from the audio system. The Scosche FD6209B is a complete plug and play kit, i.e. everything works as it should with the kit installed because it comes with integrated AC controls, as well as everything else the original dash already comes with.
This includes all of the UAC controls, not just the A/C buttons. Adjusting the fan, temperature, direction of airflow and rear/front defrost is just as easy, if not easier than the factory unit. A stereo replacement interface is included in the kit, giving you factory wheel controls which are compatible with the aftermarket stereo in the dashboard. That way, you don’t lose any practicality or ergonomics compared to the factory unit.
